Stripes have been Gwen Stefani’s favorite recently, actually, its a pattern she’s turned to quite a bit during her rise to the top. But with her bright red lips and signature platinum blonde hair, stripes look even more strikingly bold on her. Paired with her ever-cool driver hat, she makes this menswear accessorized look feminine with her vivacious colored lipstick.

The easy thing about this power-look is that all items are basic and can be re-used and re-mixed in your wardrobe throughout the year. As 2009 came to a close last week, I was constantly reminded by television and web sites that it was also the end of a decade. I began to think of all the things that have changed over the past year in fashion, and then tried to go back 10 years to what has changed. While fads like animal print everything, parachute pants, and gaucho pants came and went I was trying to remember celebrity style icons that were still looked as fashion-forward women today just as much as they were in 2000.

One prominent celebrity fashion influence over the decade is Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw, which is reflected in Sarah Jessica Parker. After SATC hit the air in 1998 it continued to be a hit on HBO till 2004. During the 6 seasons that Sarah Jessica Parker starred on the show, she evolved to celebrity style status through the clever styling of Patricia Field. SJP and Carrie Bradshaw brought high-end fashion designers into our living rooms and even modeled funky fashion on the everyday street. Although SATC ended in 2004, SJP continued to make her mark throughout the decade with fashion campaigns for the Gap, and the creation of her own fashion label Bitten along with several perfume lines. Appearing in Elle, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and W Magazine there was no shortage of SJP’s style in the industry.

Then when we thought her near decade reign was over, SATC movie was released in 2008 causing Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik shoe crazes all over again. SJP was attending press junkets in fabulous outfits inspired by SATC and has shown continuous evolution over the past decade and will continue so as the next SATC movie debuts in 2010.

To me, Sarah Jessica Parker has continuously evolved her style over the past few years and will still be on the fashion celebrity radar for many more years to come because of her genuine charm and adventurous style. Definitely looking forward to 2010 to see what fashion items SJP will inspire me with.

What caught my eye about this jewelry was its fun, flirtatious attitude. This line dares to be different, but still maintains that crucial aspect of class. The diamond-embedded wishbone necklace and the Buddha pendant are just two of many pieces in Jennifer’s line that are eye catching and delightful. Perfect for any occasion and with the words “stylish” and “gorgeous” being chosen to describe them, how could anyone not want to be the owner of Jennifer Meyer’s Jewelry?

So Santa, baby, hurry down my chimney tonight, oh and don’t forget the four-leaf clover gold necklace. Cheers!

While I was sleeping, Sandra Bullock somehow transformed her usual dull look into a hip casual jet-setter. Sandra is typically seen as a t-shirt and jeans celebrity, but this past week she was spotted looking rather preppy with her metallic silver ballet flats and her ankle length leggings.

This is a cleaner more defined Sandra than I’ve usually seen. What makes this ensemble so great is the juxtaposition of the tight form-fitting leggings and the loose tank. The loose layered tanks allow for comfort while the leggings hug her body’s shape showing off her silhouette making the perfect mixture.

Adding a few accessories like a mid-chest length gold pendant necklace and some aviators and you’ve got one quick and ready day outfit.

Yes, we all want comfort while running errands, but sometimes yoga pants and sweats just don’t cut it. In the midst of warmer weather, Ashley Olsen and Reese Witherspoon show how they avoid frumpy style faux paus and stay relaxed in summer weather. Both being fashion style icons, Ashley brings the boyfriend look back, while Reese showcases a basic mod style with accented hardware.

The button down safari shirt is the key piece in pulling Ashley’s boyfriend style together and her tattered denim cut-offs add a feminine touch. Her mule heels add some length and height, but if you’re not one to stomach heels all-day we recommended going with the gladiator sandal trend. (Personally, I’d go with flats for all-day wear.)

hardware. The bright colored dress and belt is what makes this day outfit so easy and relaxing. The bright color exudes summer and the strategically placed belt cinches the waist for a defined waist and form, but still the comfort of loose clothing.

Lets face it, business is business. Sometimes the daily grind of going to work can take a toll on you, and sometimes that means your wardrobe too. Like any job, your business dress code doesn’t have to own you, you can make it your own and show off your personality while staying within the guidelines.  Business fashion doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice personal style for the workplace. Adding a slightly tailored blazer, a charm necklace, or some sexy shoes can put a twist on the common office business wear.

Business as usual, Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr steps out on the town with the best style. This IMG Fashion model is not unfamiliar with making her outfits versatile. Being an international supermodel, Miranda is used to traveling Milan, Paris, and Sydney switching outfits between runways, photo shoots, and nighttime events. Its no wonder that Miranda can easily pull-off business casual with some gladiator heels to a night out on the town.

This outfit is extremely simple and uses closet basics that anyone can style again. Choose a fitted black blazer, ruffled romantic tank, dark fitted skinny jeans, and strappy gladiator stilettos.

Simple, fashionable, and timeless Australian super-sensation Miranda Kerr fashion is on the rise and we look to her as a new era of supers rise again.

One of the biggest trends over the past year has been plaid designs. We’ve seen the favorite print hit the runways from designers such as Lela Rose, Diane von Furstenberg, and Ralph Lauren and it doesn’t seem to be any different with ready-to-wear items for celebrities. Plaid and tartan patterns have been draping the celebs from Lindsay Lohan to Katie Holmes and it continues to be a celebrity fashion favorite into the changing seasons.

Plaid has definitely been our friend this past fall, winter, and can be versatile enough to continue on during spring and summer with different hues. Beyonce makes the print more glamorous with embellished embroidery, wooden bejeweled wedges, and gold hardware accessories.

Beyonce’s look is casual enough for a day of shopping or hanging around town, and can even be transitioned into night-life or cocktail hour. In our fashion widget we chose an embellished sleeveless plaid dress for the West Coasters, along with the Beyonce burnt red beret to shield the ocean breezes.

For a more casual look, Heidi Klum plays up a simple black and white plaid dress paired with a light cardigan, shiny rain boots, and classic black leggings and adds some aviator-esque shades for a “rocker” element to the look.  This outfit is perfect if you are relaxing and need the comfort of flats to do lots of running around or hanging around.

Checking out a Lakers game in Los Angeles, Vanessa Hudgens was looking stylish in torn denim, flowy white tank, and gorgeous gladiator wedges. Her wavy locks added an even more romantic appeal to her outfit which created an overall hit success in our books.

On the other side of the neighborhood, Isla Fisher was strolling through the park with a wonderful floral print blouse, royal blue cardigan, tattered boot-cut jeans, and strappy neutral sandals.
