Simple with a statement. Lauren Conrad may have quietly launched her L.C. by Lauren Conrad line at Kohl’s, but she herself was dressed to impress and grabbed our attention at the Kohl’s launch party. While her new clothing line has received mixed reviews, Lauren’s style was stunningly fashion forward. She kept her look very clean and basic, yet added some elegance with a sleek ponytail, and some edge with her open-toed ankle booties.

Her shoes are what make her outfit pop, and are the focal point of her whole look. Shoes with that much to say are essential to spice up a basic dress or plain tee with jeans. Lauren’s black sheer t-shirt dress can be swapped with any simple frock and is wearable for many occasions.

Back in black. Lauren Conrad may have ended her run on MTV’s The Hills last season, however she’s been busy promoting her new book L.A. Candy and is back on the fashion radar.

Never really leaving the spotlight, she exudes one of my all-time favorite outfit combos – black and black! Whenever you can’t find your favorite color or pattern for the day, you can always default to black. The good thing about black? Black looks good on anyone. It goes with any skin tone, body shape, and goes with anything! It can be casual and dressy for winter or summer. Basically, if you can’t find ANYTHING to wear, you can always count on black to save the day and look fabulous.

Lauren paired tight, dark, legging-like jeans with an over-sized tee, (But you can substitute regular leggings if its a bit warm in your area instead of the jeans.) Just ensure that whatever you choose that your bottoms are slim and tight to counteract the oversize tee. Lauren wears some gorgeous Miu Miu sandals stilettos, and a pair of Tom Ford glasses.
