Oligoville would like to thank all the designers and musicians who have participated in our giveaways, interviews and product reviews. So we decided to accept banner ad submissions and will display them for a week, free of charge.  Oligoville prides itself in its highly effective banner ad campaigns which average more than 1000 click-throughs per week. If you would you like a chance to market your brand to our targeted demographics of indie fashion and music lovers, please submit your 125×125 banner and website address to “Claudette (at) Oligoville (dot) com.”

We take time to read every message that we receive and will try to implement all your good ideas. Please help us improve Oligoville to better serve our valued readers and deliver more useful contents.

Street Style, due to launch in January ’09, is an exciting new section that will feature street fashions of major metropolitan cities throughout the United States. A single snapshot of a fashionista posing for our photographer will be posted on our site creating a directory of street fashions for each city. Each post will include the name, age, occupation and items worn by the trendster. Oligoville is seeking photographers to help contribute on a regular basis. This will be a great way for the photographer to gain an additional venue to showcase their work as well as a fantastic opportunity to network.

How cool are we?! Our Oligoville marketing campaign shoot included a nice little detail we didnt even have a name for until now! The Ankle gloves! Personally, I’m loving the colorful and printed tights in all variations, especially this one. You may also remember my fall accessories must-haves post, which included some great lace tights. There are many variations to pick from but the point is to have fun with this trend. You can transform any outfit with just a pair of tights.

Shop Intuition carries Lindsay Lohan’s new and hot legging line called 6126 (see picture above). The line represents the birth date of Hollywood icon, Marilyn Monroe, which is also the inspiration for the collection.

I am back from Las Vegas and I cannot be happier with the response we got at the Pool trade show. In case you didnt know:

Pool Tradeshow showcases the best emerging designers, featuring new product ranging from women’s and men’s apparel, to shoes and accessories, and including a variety of lifestyle products — from art, to music, to home.

We met a ton of talented designers and all very happy to hear about our Oligo plans. The concept was well received and after such positive feedback we cant wait to get our site up and running. In the meantime, we have promised to send out pre launch updates as we have them. If you are an interested designer or musician yourself, please be sure to register with us to get updated info.

This year’s show concept was “How does a brilliant idea become fashion?”. Pool featured eight innovative designers, each with their unique style. Below are some images that reflect their inspiration and gives us a glimpse of how they create their line.

Featured designers include: Anzevino and Florence, Dear Creatures, Feral Childe, Gytha Mander, Mary Meyer, Meadow, REVL and Velvet Leaf.

Ever wondered what it takes to start an online business? Sleeping, eating and breathing with your new venture in mind perhaps begins to describe what it is like. So I’m having Oligo dreams lately. Oligo is a prefix for small or few and incidentally the very name of our online business. Oligoville to be exact.

My Oligo dreams involve the very glamorous side of the fashion industry. The exact reason I was lured into this world to begin with. I’m talking wardrobe, makeup, hair, models…………photo shoots! This past weekend we orchestrated a photo shoot for our very first marketing campaign. It was a whirlwind of a day but oh soooo exciting!

Our site is scheduled to launch the end of this year but in the meantime we have to attract designers, musicians, members and investors. What better way to convey our message but through images? Oh, but not just any old stock photos! We have decided to tell the Oligoville story visually.

You see, Oligoville will be an online community that will feature and promote independent designers and musicians. Our site will have a slew of features to help these emerging artists spread the word and connect with a larger market. A market that is hungry for different, unique and innovative. Can you tell I’m excited?

So my head is still spinning from this past weekend but in a very good way. My partners and I are eternally grateful to everyone that helped put it together in such a short amount of time. We planned the entire thing in one week and somehow found the most fun and enthusiastic bunch in Dallas. We would like to send a special thanks to; Ashley our photographer, Lynn and Hollye who did our hair and makeup, Andrew and Doug from House of Dang, Micheal from Klad boutique in Dallas, Jacky from Texas Tarts. A big thank you to our models; Courtney, Octavia and Hollis as well as our musicians Teresa, Tommy, Havila and Jamie. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

So the shoot is over and now I will be dreaming of Vegas. Why Vegas? Stay tuned.
