Love is in air with Valentine’s day just around the corner. This week Oligoville has been all about kindness and love starting with our great string ring giveaway. I know its only still January but I figured many of you out there made some lofty resolutions this new year. For those of you struggling to meet those goals already, we decided to lovingly make a mixed tape to keep you going strong. These are the songs that I’m into at the moment … I really only listen to music when I’m in the car. When I’m driving, I like to crank up the volume.

1. “Strong Me Strong” by Yellowman—The Yellowman song is a quintessential reggae song for me… great guitar and percussion and Yelloman’s voice is great.

1. “Waterfront” by Simple Minds—The Waterfront is one of my favorite 80’s songs … a bit more obscure than other Simple Minds songs but really powerful and great to drive to.

1. Oh Little Brain “STS9”—This song takes me back to when I saw them in Boston. It’s a good song if you are stressed out. It’s from their new album called Peaceblaster. I know the band and hung my backstage pass from my XL Peace and Love necklace. Very Apropos …

1. “Wildflower” by The Cult—I LOVE to sing and can sing this one really well … It simply rocks. The Cult rules. Heehee!

1. “Roots of Coincidence” by Pat Metheny—Pat Metheny is one of my faves. This song in concert will blow all of your hair back…I try to recreate that experience in my car.

I’ve been running around like a maniac for the Holiday season so the list is very high energy. Next month I will be into another five songs (as I like most genres on music) but these are some good solid songs that say April.

Ryn Wilson of Junkhouse Dollyard is a Tokyo-based designer. She handcrafts each and every one of her pieces. Wilson takes vintage pieces and reconstructs them into new and inspired ones. The outcome is an explosion of delicate, feminine details and a wealth of imagination. It’s evident from her eclectic choices in music that her inspiration lays far beyond art and literature. I listen to these sounds while in my imaginary world in my Tokyo aparto-pod. Unfortunately my i-pod broke from falling to the earth too many times.
