The Next 10

I thought that as a kick off to the New Year, I might do a wish list for the next decade. The list will take the form of more of this and less of that rather than some sort of predictions for the next 10 years.

Less Lindsay Lohan and her ilk, less wannabes, less draping, less reality shows with tasteless wannabe casts who think they are “classy” or famous, less ridiculous scandals. Less UGGS, less $1000 shoes of almost impossible heights, less ridiculous trends like overly distressed and impossibly expensive jeans and open toe boots. Less biker chick and rocker fashions, less surgeries. Less teen aged “stars,” and finally less talk about the philosophy and inspiration of fashion and more substance that REALLY backs up these beliefs.

MORE reality in terms of heel heights, fashion in general as the entire consumer base is not made up of 20 somethings who are size 4. Walkable, wearable shoes with heels that might be more in the 2 ½ inch to 3 ½ inch range rather than 4 and up, and more necklaces that are not pieces of embroidery disguised as jewelry.

It would be a major miracle for the return of more lady like habits such as wearing panty hose or any hose for that matter and maybe even considering some sort of garment that does not allow your chest to precede you by 2 feet.  A return of discretion on all levels instead of all the in your face attire and attitudes.

LASTLY, a press/paparazzi that is less concerned with minor celebrity sensationalism and more with honest reportage.

Please feel free to add or dispute any of my ideas.
