- Paris Fashion Week is in full swing this week starting from Sept 28-Oct 5. WWD has the breakdown of designers that showed their Spring 2009 Ready to wear collections each day. We will be sure to break down the events most interesting trends in the coming weeks.
- Daniel Vosovic, Project Runway second season finalist, has just released his new book aimed at aspiring designers. Fashion Inside Out: Daniel V’s Happens from Inspiration to Runway and Beyond is now on sale at Amazon.com ($20). “From inspiration to execution, from first sketches to final styling, from developing a collection to defining a look, Fashion Inside Out combines practical information on fashion design with an intimate look at the fashion scene today.”
- “The online fashion retailer Asos has again dodged the high street gloom to report soaring first-half sales.” according to The Guardian. Asos was formerly known as As Seen on Screen, is the second most visited clothing website in Britain after Next. The online giant has managed to fare well as its young target market is under less pressure from rising mortgage payments and household bills.
- Victor and Rolf makes waves with a web-only fashion show. This highly anticipated show from the Dutch conceptualist artists can be seen by everyone online with no filtering by media. What a concept! Could this be the end of the fashion show?
